

Dr. Colleen Vega is the Lead APP at the Stanford Health Care (SHC) in the Palliative Care Department. Her 22-year health care career spans clinical practice in emergency care, leadership roles, quality outcome improvement initiatives, and nursing professional development. Most recently, Dr. Vega has been working on quality initiatives to improve access to care for marginalized populations.

Dr. Vega earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at the San Jose State University in 2021. She is national certified as an advanced practice provider in hospice and palliative care and certified as an emergency nurse. Other career highlights include a master’s degree in acute care/trauma clinical nurse specialist at University of California-San Francisco. Along with her position at SHC, Dr. Vega is a lecturer at San Francisco State University.
