Inaugural Stanford Medicine Caring Heart Connections 2026

Caring Heart Connections is an immersive, experiential, and collaborative learning event designed to deepen participants’ understanding and practice of Caring Science across both personal and professional domains. Grounded in Jean Watson’s Caritas Processes®, this two day gathering integrates healing modalities, creative expression, relational connection, and evidence informed best practices to cultivate a holistic and heart-centered approach to caring healing work. Through embodied experiences, reflective processes and best practice sharing, participants will engage with the science, art, and spirit of human caring. The event provides a unique opportunity to explore the Praxis of Caring, moving from theory to lived experience and from individual insight to collective transformation. Participants will be able to evaluate the impact of embodied caring-healing practices on their own well-being, presence, and capacity for authentic relational engagement. Participants will leave with renewed presence, expanded capacity for transpersonal relationships, and actionable strategies for sustaining caring healing environments within their teams, units, and organizations. This event is designed for Caritas Coaches®, Caritas Nurses®, Caritas Partners®, leaders, clinicians, educators, and anyone committed to advancing the culture of human caring

1. Analyze how Caring Science principles can be systematically integrated across the WCSI domains—leadership, education, praxis, and research—within Stanford Health Care to strengthen a culture of human-centered caring-healing environments.
2. Evaluate the impact of embodied caring-healing practices on their own well-being, presence, and capacity for authentic relational engagement.
3. Analyze exemplars, innovations, and quality-improvement projects presented by Caritas leaders to identify shared themes, patterns, and success factors in Caring Science integration.
4. Assess the effectiveness of immersive activities in cultivating a communal Caritas Field that supports emotional safety, belonging, inclusion, and heart-centered connection among a diverse staff, patients, families and communities.
