Pain Management Considerations for the Oncology Population (January 21, 2025)

This 1-hour course is designed for the Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Provider who is interested in a more comprehensive understanding of pain management overview for treating patients with cancer. Topics in this session include metastatic bone pain, chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy, and radiation therapy pain. By the end of the course, learners will increase their knowledge of the various types of cancer related pain and recommended treatment modalities.

1. Explain how provider implicit bias can effect the quantity and type of prescriptions ordered for patients on government insurance.
2. Describe the nature and prevalence of cancer-related pain
3. Articulate the various pain states unique to cancer
