Overview
The Pharmacology Series is a collection of 9 sessions focused on the most common medications used for specific patient populations. This series was designed for nurses and Advanced Practice Practitioners. Each webinar session is taught by a pharmacist from SHC. In this session, learners will be provided an overview of the most common Endocrine & Metabolic Disorder drugs. The 1-hour course will also review the indication for use and common side effects of these medications. By the end of this course, 65% of participants will be able to state that they can apply this information to their practice. You will need to score 75% or higher on a post-test to obtain your CE credits.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, 65% of participants will be able to state that they can apply this information to their practice. Learning Objectives:

  1. Differentiate between the diagnostic and classification criteria for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, diabetes insipidus, and disorders of the thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary gland.
  2. Discuss evidence-based treatment approaches in treating endocrine and metabolic disorders
  3. Identify appropriate therapeutic management for secondary complications from diabetes or thyroid disorders
  4. Discuss how implicit bias may affect treatment decisions for this patient population
