Overview

The Center for Advanced Practice is proud to offer an advanced practice program geared toward prescribing providers that focuses on the principles of pharmacology in relation to Schedule II-IV controlled substances. This all-day program is presented by a spectacular advanced practice faculty who will explore assessment, treatment, management, evaluation, and standardized procedures and protocols of controlled substances, with an emphasis on schedule II. Additionally, the course will review the legal and prescribing aspects associated with pain management as well as substance use disorders, drug diversion, controlled substances in the pediatric population, pain management in cancer, and ethical considerations. By the end of the event, learners will gain knowledge of substances use disorder, use controlled substances based on evidence-based practice and follow the latest guideline to enhance public health and safety.

*All learners will be required to pass the post-test (Passing score is 75% with maximum of 3 attempts) and complete the evaluation after the course to be awarded contact hours and to receive a CE certificate. 


ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Gain knowledge of controlled substances and adjunct therapy which can be applied to their advanced provider practice.
  2. Identify and examine the role of implicit bias as it relates to pain management, especially in vulnerable populations.

AAPA Objectives
  1. Gain knowledge of controlled substances, adjunct therapies, and substance use disorders which can be applied to their advanced provider practice.
  2. Identify and examine the role of implicit bias as it relates to management, especially in vulnerable populations.
