Overview
As Advanced Practice Providers of Stanford Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Department, we are excited to offer this workshop for APPs and RNs. Speakers include our ENT faculties and APPs who are going to engage in up-to-date and evidence-based discussion on multiple ENT topics, covering the fields of otology, rhinology, laryngology, sleep medicine, and head and neck cancer. Pharmaceutical content will be included in several presentations. There will be a 30- minute hands-on session on tracheostomy care, laryngectomy supplies, cerumen removal and Epley's Maneuver at the end of the course. The course aims to equip our learners with the knowledge and skills to effectively assess, diagnose, and manage common ENT conditions; to recognize indications for medical vs. surgical interventions in ENT care; to better collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including audiologists, speech pathologists, and ENT surgeons.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify common ENT disorders and ENT emergencies
  2. Discuss the knowledge and skills required to effectively assess, diagnose and manage common ENT conditions.
  3. Describe indications for medical vs. surgical interventions in ENT care.
  4. Identify indications for ENT referral with appropriate pre-referral workups.
  5. Discuss how implicit bias affects health care provider's perceptions and treatment decisions leading to health disparities in health outcomes.

AAPA Objectives
  1. Identify common ENT disorders and ENT emergencies.
  2. Describe indications for medical vs. surgical interventions in ENT care.
  3. Identify indications for ENT referral with appropriate pre-referral workups.
  4. Discuss the knowledge and skills required to effectively assess, diagnose and manage common ENT conditions.
  5. Discuss how implicit bias affects health care provider's perceptions and treatment decisions leading to health disparities in health outcomes.

Registration
