2025 Pharmacology Series: Infectious Disease Medication Update

The Pharmacology Series is a collection of 9 sessions focused on the most common medications used for specific patient populations. This series was designed for nurses and Advanced Practice Practitioners. Each webinar session is taught by a pharmacist from SHC. In this session, learners will be provided an overview of the most common infectious disease drugs. The 1-hour course will also review the indication for use and common side effects of these medications. By the end of this course, 65% of participants will be able to state that they can apply this information to their practice. You will need to score of at least 75% on the post-test and complete an evaluation to obtain your CE certificate. You will have three attempts.

1. Identify signs/symptoms, etiology and risk factors for common infectious disease disorders.
2. Describe pharmacotherapeutic recommendations for managing these common disorders.
3. Discuss how implicit bias may affect treatment decisions for this particular patient population.
