Overview

This online course covers foundational principles of mentoring and identifies what constitutes a healthy mentoring relationship. The course will provide the learner with practical mentoring tools to apply in their mentoring relationship to enhance dialogue and engagement. By the end of the session, learners will gain knowledge of mentoring concepts, effective communication practices, and professional etiquette suitable for both mentor and mentee roles. An activity workbook is included and should be downloaded at the start of the course to support practice and reflection. Outcome: 65% of participants will report an intent to integrate mentoring tools into their mentoring relationship.

  1. Discuss the role and responsibilities of a Mentor and a Mentee.
  2. Describe how to cultivate and nurture a healthy mentoring relationship.
  3. Identify biases that can affect a relationship and recognize ways to address these biases.
