Overview

**For Stanford Health Care & Stanford Children's Health (LPCH) Employees**

This interactive workshop equips healthcare workers with practical tools to recognize and address moral distress, prevent workplace violence, promote civility, and manage conflict. Through case-based learning, simulation, and skill rehearsal grounded in trauma-informed care and Watson’s Caring Science, participants strengthen communication, bystander, and restorative strategies that support a safe, respectful, and collaborative care environment.


ANCC Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, 65% of learners will report a gain in knowledge of holistic approaches to workplace violence prevention.

Learning Objectives


  1. Recognize how unintended biases may affect how we handle a workplace violence situation and discuss ways to mitigate those biases.
  2. Describe de-escalation techniques to use in a workplace violence situation.
  3. Discuss therapeutic communication tools effectively when encountering conflict.
  4. Differentiate between incivility, bullying, and workplace violence.
  5. Identify organizational resources to combat incivility and bullying the workplace.
