Overview

This webinar will present three speakers who will focus on their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) projects and reflect on how the DNP experience has enhanced their work as leaders.

Dr. Leticia Wilke, DNP, RN, PHN, ACNS-BC, BC-ADM, CDCES will present on "From Evidence to Practice: Implementing Culturally Tailored Shared Medical Appointments to Improve Diabetes Care for Spanish -Speaking Adults", highlighting how culturally tailored approaches can enhance diabetes care outcomes. 

Dr. Salem Paschal, DNP, RN, NEA-BC will present on "Recognize how implicit bias may affect the identification, assessment, and referral of patients experiencing depression and identify strategies that promote equitable screening practices", highlighting practical approaches to reducing disparities and improving access to mental health care.  

Dr. Kathleen Judge, DNP, ACNS-BC, CDCES will present on " An Educational Intervention to Improve Clinicians’ Knowledge Regarding Use of Depression Screening Tool and Type 2 Diabetes", emphasizing the importance of early identification and screening. 


ANCC Learning Outcomes

65% of participants will self-report an increase in knowledge of how earning a DNP supports nursing leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  1. Describe the impact of a culturally and linguistically tailored shared medical appointment model on diabetes self-efficacy and treatment satisfaction among Spanish-speaking adults with type 2 diabetes. (Knowledge)
  2. Describe the relationship between psychological empowerment and nurse manager job satisfaction, retention, and leadership effectiveness. (Knowledge)
  3. Recognize how implicit bias may affect the identification, assessment, and referral of patients experiencing depression and identify strategies that promote equitable screening practices. (Knowledge)
