In the post-pandemic era, self-care of the nurse is upheld as a critical, first element to offering loving-kindness to others. While self-care is vital, physical outer care is only one part. Inner care is essential for true care of the self. Inner care focuses on love and connects the practitioner with the greater, unified world. This, in turn, offers more authentic, humanistic care of patients and families. The Watson Seven Sutras© offer perspective and a pathway to inner care for the nurse to yield more expansive and beneficial outcomes.

1. Understand deep, compassionate Caritas/ 'Caring-for-Self', the Watson 7 Sacred Sutras©, and the dynamics for incorporating this knowledge into practice for an improved patient care experience.
