2022 Oncology Series: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cancer Cellular Therapy (CCT) Emergencies

The 2022 Oncology Series is a collection of five sessions focused on enhancing knowledge in caring for the oncology patient. It is broken into two pathways: Hematology/Oncology Nursing and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cancer Cellular Therapy (CCT) Nursing. This is the third session for the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cancer Cellular Therapy (CCT) Nurse and provides evidence-based information on BMT and CCT emergencies including acute complications of bone marrow transplant, acute complications of cancer cellular therapy, and palliative care in BMT and CCT patient populations. By the end of the session, the leaner will be able to identify acute complications secondary to bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cancer cellular therapies (CCT) and discuss various treatment options. You are required to pass the post-test and complete the evaluation to attain a CE Certificate. The passing score is 75% or higher. There are three attempts for the post-test.

1. Identify acute complications secondary to bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cancer cellular therapies (CCT) and discuss various treatment options.
2. Describe how implicit bias may affect the care of end-of-life BMT and CCT patients, and list strategies to mitigate implicit bias.
