Overview

Exclusive to SHC & Stanford Children's (LPCH) Employees

This workshop will describe the essential requirements and steps to complete an application for Stanford Nurse Alumnae Legacy Grants.  The workshop will explain application components, what grant reviewers are looking for, common mistakes to avoid, and will promote health equity in grant proposal applications.

Topics include: Identifying the purpose of a project, summarizing current literature, describing how the project will impact clinical practice, developing methods for the project, and creating a realistic timeline and budget. This workshop will include examples of research and quality improvement/evidence-based practice projects; and project ideas that align with the institution’s strategic plan, like identifying age, gender, and racial/ethnic disparities and the structural or systemic barriers that contribute to these disparities. The target audience for this workshop are all professionals with an RN degree employed by Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. The overall learning objective for this course is for participants to prepare a well-developed project and grant application to fund research that will positively impact clinical practice and/or patient care. Legacy grant submission deadlines are April 30th & October 31st every year.
