This workshop will describe the essential requirements and steps to complete an application for Stanford Nurse Alumnae Legacy Grants. The workshop will begin with an overview of Legacy Grants, what grant reviewers are looking for and common mistakes to avoid. Topics include: Identifying the purpose of a project, completing a literature review on the topic, developing methods for research, creating a budget and a timeline. The target audience for this workshop are all professionals with an RN degree employed by Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. The overall learning objective for this course is for participants to prepare a well-developed project and grant application to fund research that will positively impact practice and/or patient care. The target audience for this workshop are SHC/SCH professionals with a nursing degree interested in applying for grant funding with a developed clinical inquiry. Legacy grant submission deadlines are: April 30th 2021 & October 31st 2021. In the weeks following the webinar, there are 1-hour consultation slots available during normal business hours for individual 1:1 consultation with the course faculty to support your application.

**For the session, you will need a computer and internet access to view the meeting. Instructions on how to login will be emailed upon registration.


ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe what Legacy Grant reviewers are looking for in high-quality grant applications.
  2. List 3 common mistakes to avoid in a Legacy grant application.
  3. Discuss major topic areas in Legacy Grant applications.
  4. Discuss different approaches/methods to answer the research question.
