The SHC/SCH Advanced Practice Provider Grand Rounds is a monthly podium speaker session targeted towards all Advance Practice Providers (APPs), which provides the APP an opportunity to share professional knowledge by providing an overview and key components of their practice specialty, with hopes of generating discussion about their roles as an APP. This session will discuss the potential impact and consequences of implicit bias when evaluating a Jehovah's Witness patient who requests for bloodless care. It will also include understanding how to improve patient-provider communication by outlining why Jehovah's witnesses do not accept blood transfusions.  By the end of the course, learners will be able to facilitate patient care by identifying 3 alternative therapies for bloodless care and provide educational resources for bloodless patient care management.
