Overview
The 2022 Oncology Series is a collection of five sessions focused on enhancing knowledge in caring for the oncology patient. It is broken into two pathways: Hematology/Oncology Nursing and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cancer Cellular Therapy (CCT) Nursing. This is the third session for the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cancer Cellular Therapy (CCT) Nurse and provides evidence-based information on BMT and CCT emergencies including acute complications of bone marrow transplant, acute complications of cancer cellular therapy, and palliative care in BMT and CCT patient populations.


ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. By the end of the session, the leaner will be able to identify acute complications secondary to bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cancer cellular therapies (CCT) and discuss various treatment options.
  2. By the end of the session, the learner will be able to describe how implicit bias may affect the care of end-of-life BMT and CCT patients, and list strategies to mitigate implicit bias.
