Overview
The online learning module will provide a comprehensive educational framework that empowers nurse managers with the knowledge and confidence necessary to support nurses in their clinical ladder progression. First, we'll explore "Nurturing a Caring Intention for Yourself." This lesson emphasizes the importance of self-care and understanding your own needs. Lesson 2, "Leading Nurses Towards Clinical Expertise," will equip you with the tools to mentor and guide others in their professional journey. Remember, effective leadership is about inspiring and empowering those around you. In Lesson 3, we will delve into the "Professional Nurse Development Program (PNDP)," process and requirements. Lastly, we will explore how to "Nurture a Caring Intention for Others" emphasizes the importance of compassion and empathy in cultivating a supportive environment for your team. By the end of this module, the learner will be able to: 1. Define the role of nurse managers in developing clinical expertise among nursing staff. 2. Describe the Benner Domains and how they are applied in clinical practice. 3. Apply methods to support nurses in developing and sustaining their clinical expertise. 4. Implement strategies for self-reflection and cultivate practices that demonstrate care and compassion. 5. Reflect on one's own implicit biases and identify strategies to mitigate these biases when supporting and developing nurses. Outcome: 65% of participants will report an intent to integrate a new method learned in this module to support nurses in developing and sustaining their clinical expertise.
