Overview

The Resource Nurse is a pivotal member of a healthcare team and organization. They play a vital role in bridging clinical expertise with effective resource management, ensuring that both patients and healthcare teams have the support and guidance they need for optimal care delivery. This course will provide Resource Nurses with the tools and strategies to be successful in the new role. The objective for this half-day in-person class is to cultivate professionalism, enhance communication and relationship management skills, deepen knowledge of the healthcare environment, improve resource navigation, and develop leadership abilities, empowering each participant to discover and strengthen the leader within in accordance with the American Organization of Nurse Leadership competency domains. By the end of this course, 65% of participants will report an increase in knowledge of the tools and resources available while in a Resource Nurse role.


ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Recognize the resources, tools, and strategies available to support and guide the nurse in the resource nurse role.
  2. Relate the American Organization of Nurse Leadership competency domains of professionalism, communication and relationship management, knowledge of healthcare environment, leadership, leader within, and resource stewardship into the resource nurse role.
  3. Identify how implicit bias and social determinants of health can affect patient outcomes.
