Overview

This course is designed for medical personnel interested in learning the basics of 12-Lead ECG interpretation. It builds on the knowledge obtained in the basic ECG rhythm recognition course and in ACLS. Included is the coronary circulation, electrode placement, determination of mean electrical axis, common causes for axis deviation, criteria for ischemia, non-STEMI, and STEMI, bundle branch blocks, and chamber hypertrophy. Case studies are included to complete the clinical presentation and practice sessions to reinforce learning. Upon completion of this course the participant will have a working knowledge of normal, right and left axis, the normal pattern in each of the leads ion the frontal and sagittal planes, changes seen in acute coronary syndrome, bundle branch blocks and chamber hypertrophy.

  1. Identify patterns of a 12-Lead ECG.
  2. Describe treatment options of Acute Coronary Syndrome or Myocardial Infarction based on a 12-Lead ECG.
